FAQ
Common questions.
The questions clients ask most often, with short, plain answers. If there’s something we haven’t covered, email hello@aedo.studio.
What do you actually do?
[REVIEW: one-paragraph answer in your voice. Suggested: 'We make product imagery and short-form video for Australian DTC brands at $1–15M ARR. We also build the brand sites and product pages that those assets live on.']
How do projects work — by the campaign or on retainer?
[REVIEW: explain how a project is scoped, kickoff cadence, and how retainer vs. one-off engagements differ. The Practice section of the homepage references both — keep this consistent with what's there.]
How long does a project take?
[REVIEW: typical lead time and delivery window — e.g. 'Two weeks from kickoff for a single product line. Larger campaigns 4–6 weeks. Retainers ship a defined monthly volume.']
What does it cost?
[REVIEW: pricing approach — fixed packages, ranges, or 'by quote.' If you publish ranges, keep them in sync with the Practice section.]
Where are you based, and do you travel?
We're based in Sydney, Australia. [REVIEW: state whether you travel for shoots, and if so, where and at whose cost.]
Do I need to send you physical product?
[REVIEW: yes/no — and if yes, who pays for shipping and return, and what happens to the product after the shoot.]
Who owns the imagery you produce?
[REVIEW: critical to get right. Suggested baseline: 'You own the final delivered images and videos for unlimited commercial use on your owned channels and paid media. We retain the right to use them in our portfolio and marketing. Specific licensing terms are set out in your statement of work.' But CONFIRM with counsel.]
Can I use the work for Amazon, paid social, print, or in-store?
[REVIEW: explicitly state which use cases are included in the standard licence and which require an extension. Amazon and broadcast TV in particular are common sticking points.]
How many revisions are included?
[REVIEW: e.g. 'Two rounds of revisions per asset are included. Additional rounds are billed at our hourly rate, agreed in advance.']
Do you use AI in your process?
[REVIEW: this is increasingly asked. Be specific and honest. Suggested template: 'We use AI tools as part of our craft — for ideation, set-extension, retouching, and motion. Every delivered frame is reviewed, art-directed, and finished by hand. We disclose AI involvement when a client asks. We don't train external models on your product imagery.']
What rights do my product, brand, and trademarks have?
[REVIEW: brief reassurance that the brand owns its IP, and that your engagement does not transfer it to you.]
How do you handle our brand assets and product info?
[REVIEW: confidentiality posture. Suggested: 'Anything you share with us before a public launch is treated as confidential and isn't shown to anyone outside the working team. We sign an NDA on request.']
What if I'm not happy with the work?
[REVIEW: kill-fee / refund / re-shoot policy. Set this honestly — most disputes come from unclear answers here.]
Can you also build my website?
[REVIEW: yes — link to /sites and describe the engagement model.]
How do I start?
[REVIEW: short answer pointing to /contact, with expected response time. Keep consistent with the 'one business day' promise in the contact section.]
